Meet Lisa
I started my animal career 20 years ago as a Co-Operations Manager in a small municipal shelter at the beginning of the 'No Kill Movement.'
There, I learned every aspect of animal sheltering and rescue. From intake to adoptions, from kennels to animal control, I carried the knowledge and wisdom I gained working 'in the trenches' there to every other organization afterwards.
During my tenure, I created a pet matching, community friendly adoption program, a behavioral assessment system, a foster care program, a breed rescue program, and a volunteer program. I also served as liasion to three boards including the county municipal board.
I reduced euthanasia rates by 35% in the first year by creating a trusted, customer friendly adoption center, compassionate animal care and behavior protocols, improved employee/volunteer relations, and leveraged resources in the community.

Focus Topics

A potential adopter came into the shelter
and said,"Give me the oldest, ugliest dog you have that has been here the longest." I could have kissed her!
